Our first foray east. It's a long way but well worth it, the culture is completely different from anything we've previously experienced.
Bali was fantastic even if we had chosen hotels miles from the dive sites. One site was only reached by loading all our dive gear in one outrigger with us in another. At the site they just threw our gear in the water and we jumped in after it.
Lombok was totally different again, wilder and more lush. We took the name of our transfer guide - we'd use that later - as he dropped us off at the Oberoi. What a delight.
