Amanda had her share of ups and downs with her employer Peter, one of the ups came in the form of a monetary bonus for surviving 5 years. This was the ideal opportunity for the holiday of a lifetime - we'd never be able to afford it again.
We book 1 week on Mahe and another on Praslin. One of the things I remember is that as our bus left the airport it dropped people off in ascending order of hotel stars and when we were the last people on the bus we could barely contain our excitement.
The 5 star Fisherman's Cove was unbelievable - we felt like royalty. It took 2 days for our mouths to close and do some exploring.
On Praslin the Coco de Mer was a little disappointing after Fisherman's Cove but there were more opportunities to explore. One day we hired a mini-moke and drooled over some of the other hotels we nearly stayed at. This took us as far as a beach called Anse Lazio, arguably the most beautiful beach in the world.
Sadly we never dived here but the couple doing their open water homework every night in the bar piqued my interest.
